Samuel PATTON died at the home of his son, Edward Patton in Browns Valley on Monday morning. Edward Patton recently moved to the Valley and is living in the Roy Bayless house. His father came from the southern part of the state to visit him. Death resulted from tumor on the brain after two weeks illness. He was the son of Frank and Betty Patton and was born April 3, 1850. He married Mary E. GAULT in 1885, who predeceased him. He spent most of his life in Washington Co. where the body was taken for burial at Livonia after being cared for by Mr. Machledt. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and Odd Fellows lodge. He is survived by one foster son and two foster grandchildren, Dorothy and Samuel Patton. - kbz
