Lucile PATTON Lucille, the oldest child of James W. and Elizabeth Lane Patton, died at the family residence in West Greene street, about 7 o'clock on Tuesday morning. Miss Patton was born in Browns Valley, May 17, 1896, and moved here with her parents about three years ago. She attended the common and High School at Browns Valley. She joined the Baptist Church at Browns Valley, and after coming here transferred her membership to the local Church. She took great interest in Church and Sunday School work. About a year ago she was stricken with tuberculosis, and failed rapidly. For several weeks her life has hung in the balance. Funeral services at the Christian Church on Thursday afternoon were conducted by Rev. H.H. Elmore, of Clinton, and Rev. S.K. Fuson, of Rockville. There was a large attendance and many beautiful floral offerings. She was of a lovable disposition and has made a host of warm friends since coming to Waveland. The father and mother and one sister, Beulah, and four brothers, Lloyd, Lester, Elbert Lee and Eugene, survive her. - kbz
