Patton - Josiah

Josiah (Joe) C. Patton, age 77, retired farmer
of two miles east of Browns Valley died at 7:50 a.m. March 30 in Culver Hospital
at Crawfordsville. He had been seriously ill the last four weeks with a heart
ailment. A son of Thomas F. and Luch Ann David Patton, he was born in the
Browns Valley community June 18, 1888. He was wed to Fern Hunt to Isic
-at) Russellville Dec 28, 1912. She survives. Surviving besides the wife are
two sons, Sam T. and Don Patton of near Waveland; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy
Loadenback of Indianapolis and Mrs. Betty Jo Sowers of Kingman; 14
grandchildren; a brother, George patton of Lafayette and two sisters, Mrs.
Gertrude Bayless of Browns Valley and Mrs. TW Rice of Crawfordsville. Five
brothers and four sisters preceded Mr. Patton in death. Funeral services were
held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Noble-Reeves Funeral Home in New Market with
Revs. Raymond Skelton and Dalis Reesler officiating and burial in Indian Creek
Hill Cemetery.
