Mrs. Bessie L. Patton, Montgomery County native, died early Saturday morning at her residence, 1010 E. Pike St. She was 84 years old. The deceased was a member of the Oak Hill Tabernacle Church. Born on Sept. 7, 1885, at Shannondale, she was the daughter of Charles and Lela VanScoyoc Crain. Her marriage to Willard Hermann Patton was solemnized in April of 1904. He preceded her in death in 1943. Survivors include five sons, Malcolm of Crawfordsville, Charley of Jackson, Mich., Willard of Henderson, Nev., Francis of Mission, Kan., and William of Tallahassee, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Hines of Brownsburg and Mrs. Leta Mushrush of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters and three grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Wright in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.
