Mrs. Retta Parr, 77, widow of Jesse Parr, died at 7:50 o'clock last night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dora Bailey, residing at 1601 South M street, of infirmities of age and complications, after an illness of two weeks.  The daughter of George and Mary Ann Thomas, she was born in Montgomery county December 19, 1857.  On November 19, 1879, she was united in marriage to Jesse Parr.  He died several years ago.   Mrs. Parr was a good Christian woman and was held in high esteem by her wide circle of friends.  She was a member of the M.E. Church at Indianapolis.    Surviving are two children, Mrs. Bailey, at whose home she died, and Claude Parr, of Denver, Col, and two sisters, Mrs. Lennie Ferrie, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Nellie Powell, of Madison.  There are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.    The body was removed to the Coper and Fesler Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Robert W. Sage, pastor of the First Baptist Church, in charge.  Burial will be in the city cemetery, --- thanks so much to Kim H for this one – she’s awesome!!
