COVINGTON – Funeral services for James A. Parks, age 62, of Darlington, father of Jim Parks, 1116 Third St., Covington, who was killed in a one-car crash at the west edge of Darlington Thursday morning, Aug. 24, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bright Funeral Home, Darlington. The Rev. Richard Trott officiated and burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Darlington. Mr. Parks was born in Metcalf, Ky., April 5, 1905, the son of William W. and Berdia Estella Shaw Parks. He was married Sept. 15, 1929, in Darlington, to Pansy Irene Johnson, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: three sons, William L. of Chicago, Joe of Crawfordsville and Jim of Covington; five daughters, Miss Maxine Parks of Indianapolis, Mrs. Lloyd R. Smith of Darlington, Miss Helen Frances Parks of Darlington, Mrs. Deloss Seymour of Waynetown, and Mrs. John W. Jones of Williamsport; three brothers, Joe Parks of Darlington, Victor Parks of Fieldew, Ill., and Oakley D. Parks of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Velma Medjesky of Indianapolis; and 17 grandchildren. --typed by Walt W
