MELLOTT -- Mrs. Hallie Stockdale Palin, 72, a life resident of the Mellott area, died Tuesday evening at her home. She was a member of Quigle-Palin American Legion Auxiliary at Newtown, Booklover's Club, Fountain County Historical Society and Pleasant Hill Church of Christ at Wingate. She was a graduate of Wingate High School. Born March 10, 1900, she was a daughter of Henry and Orilla Neal Stockdale. She was married to Harry Palin. He died in 1962. Survivors include two sons, Donald M. of Mellott and Dale of Louisville, Ky.; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Maxine Williams of Hubert, N.C., Mrs. Vivan M. Dalliet of Picayune, Miss., Mrs. Willa Jeanne Turner of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Mildred C. Martin of New Richmond, and Mrs. Marlyn Pierce of Jamestown; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, sister and brother. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro with Rev. Clyde Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday. --typed by Walt W

She was born March 10, 1900, near Wingate, daughter of Henry and Orilla Neal Stockdale. She was a graduate of Wingate High. She was married to Harry Palin who died June 28, 1961. Mrs. Palin was a member of the Book Lovers Club, the Quigle-Palin Legion Auxiliary 394, and the Fountain County Historical Society. Survivors include two sons, Donald of Mellott, and Dale of Louisville, Ky.; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Williams of Hubert, N.C.; Mrs. Vivian Dalliet of Picayune, Miss.; Mrs. Willa Turner of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Mildred Martin of New Richmond and Mrs. Marlyn Pierce of Jamestown; three sisters, Mrs. Onita Walsh of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Edith Foley of Wingate, and Mrs. Opal Yetter of Indianapolis; two brothers, Gordon Stockdale of Wingate, and Walter Stockdale of Durand, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson. A sister, a brother, and a son also preceded her in death. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Clyde Hunter officiating.
