LINDEN—Wallace N. Owens, 80-year-old retired farmer and for 50 years a resident of this community, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of his son, Wilbur, on Rt. 1 Linden. He had been ill five weeks. A native of Harding County, Kentucky, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Owens and was born in July of 1879. He was married in December, 1901, to Minnie French, who died in 1953. He was a member of the Mills Creek Baptist Church in Harding County. Survivors include the son and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded Mr. Owens in death. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Helms Funeral Home here, with Rev. Dennis Murphy of the Linden-Kirkpatrick Methodist Church officiating and interment in the Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
LINDEN—Funeral services for Wallace N. Owens were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Helms Funeral Home here. Rev. Dennis Murphy officiated. Pallbearers were Homer Parson, Robert Kilgore, Carl Walker, Robert Rice, Noel Coffman and George Lane. The pallbearers also assisted with the flowers. Interment was in the Linden Cemetery.
