NEW RICHMOND — Harry L. Overpeck of Rt. 1 New Richmond, 71-year-old farmer and World War I veteran, died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in Veterans Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was a native of Parke County, born March 2, 1895 to Charles and Cora Collings Overpeck, and was married at Hollandsburg on Aug. 23, 1917 to Tressie Biddle, who survives. They had lived in the New Richmond area the last 17 years. Mr. Overpeck was a member of the New Discovery Baptist Church near Rockville. Surviving besides the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Jeanne Whipple of Greenfield; two sons, Robert L. Overpeck of West Lebanon and Dick Overpeck of Rt. 1 New Richmond; a brother, Jesse Overpeck of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Williams of London, Ind., and 10 grandchildren. Funeral rites are set for 2:30 p m. Friday at the Butler Funeral Home in Rockville, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Kenneth Buser will officiate and interment will be in New Discovery Cemetery.
