Again God in his infinite love and wisdom has deemed it just to call from our home unto His our beloved sister and mother Sarah C. OSWALT. The deceased was born near Wingate, Montgomery County, Indiana Jan 20, 1854 and departed life Feb 7, 18905, aged 51 years 17 days. At the early age of 16 she gave her heart to God uniting with Snyder's Chapel United Brethren Church. She was united in marriage to Adam Oswalt June 5, 1876 to which holy union 6 children were born, 5 survive. Eva and the father passed to their reward. Sarah was a loving wife and devoted mother. To know her was but to love her. May it not be truly said of her as of the woman of old, 'She hath done what she could." Blessed are the ministrations of sorrows. Through them we are brought into more tender relationship with the infinite. The sorrow which God appoints is purifying and ennobling and contains within it a serious joy. We are called to separate from a worthy sister and mother but let us remember there is healing in a bitter cup. The spirit of this blessed woman has departed but the memory of her will ever be dear to those who knew her. For many years she has been a servant of God and dying with a full assurance that Jesus has a home prepared for her. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Zion by the Revs. WE Stanley & Servies, interment in the cemetery near by. The deceased was a daughter of Amelia and Christopher Conger. Four of her brothers and sisters are deceased and 8 are living. Those from a distance attending: John Reid and wife of Linden; Levi Shubert of Attica; Dan Conger and wife of Thorntown; two sons, Walter and Grover of Attica. - kbz
