Penelope Francis Osborn, 43, of Stamford, Conn, formerly of Crawfordsville died Thursday morning in Stamford Hospital. Mrs. Osborn was a member of House of Hope Presbyterian Church at St. Paul, Minn. She graduated from Crawfordsville HS in 1953 and was a 1957 graduate of Indiana University. She had been a teacher in Evanston, Ill and St. Paul public schools. She was a niece of Byron Clark Cox, for whom the local American Legion Post is named. Mrs. Osborn was a member of the American Association of University Women in St. Paul. She was born June 7, 1936 at Crawfordsville, a daughter of Louis and Evelyn Francis. Survivors are the husband, Thomas W. Osborn; four children, Ned, Nicholas,, Benjamin and Gillian at home; the other and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wingert of Crawfordsville; a brother, Phillips W. Francis Rt 7, Crawfordsville; a sister, Patricia L. Barnes of Alexandria, VA; a grandmother, Mrs. Fairy Francis, Rt 7, Crawfordsville; an uncle; two aunts, several nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday at Stamford with burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery at St. Paul.
