Orahood - Lulu Ratcliff

Mrs. Lulu Orahood, 61, lifelong resident of the community of Kingman, died at four o'clock on Sunday morning, Sept 29 at Lake View Hospital, Danvillle, Ill. She suffered a hemorrhage of the stomach several weeks ago and was taken to the hospital, returning home last Wednesday. She again had an attack Sat. afternoon and was rushed back to the hospital. Mrs. Orahood was born near Kingman Aug 31, 1885 the daughter of William and Nanny Sowers Ratcliff. She was married to Harold Orahood in 1911. She was a member of the United Bretheren Church and Ladies Aid Society. Surviving are the husband, one son, Arbon , one grandson, James Orahood, one sister, Mrs. Dot Rector of Joplin Mo and two brothers, Clem and Claude Ratcliff, Kingman. Funeral services were held from the Kingman United Brethren Church at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Leslie Smith officiating. Burial was in Centennial Cemetery with Spencer Funeral Home in charge.
