Harry B. Oppy, 70, who lived in Lafayette from 1919 to 1931, died at 4 a.m. Friday after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home at Santa Barbara, Calif. Word was received here by his sister-in-law, Mrs. G. Milford Andrews, Lafayette. He was an electric welder and had retired. He was a native of New Richmond and was married in 1918 to Mabel McLain. He was a member of the American Legion. Surviving with the widow is a daughter, Harriet, also at Santa Barbara, and a son, Lt. Col. Paul F. Oppy of Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Oppy, 68, former resident, died at Santa Barbara, Calif., where he has lived for the past 35 years. Word of his death was received by a brother, Ernest Oppy. The deceased was the son of George A. and Sarah E. Oppy. The survivors include two brothers, Ernest of this city and W. E. Stites of Fresno, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Dora Miller, Mrs. Wint Miller and Mrs. Bertha Allen, all of this city. Funeral services and burial will be in Santa Barbara.
