LINDEN — Services for Mrs. Gertrude Oliver were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Helms Funeral Chapel in charge of Rev. Richard Reahard of the New Richmond Methodist Church. Mrs. Betty Edwards was the organist. Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery. Pallbearers, who also assisted with the flowers, were Orie Wagner, Richard Shotts, David Oppy, Garland Oppy, Ralph Kunkel and Bob Stephens.

NEW RICHMOND — Mrs. Gertrude Oliver, former resident of New Richmond, died at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Leslie Nursing Home at Buck Creek. Mrs. Oliver, 84, was admitted to the nursing home six months ago. She was the widow of Frank Oliver who died on July 3, 1961. The deceased was a member of the New Richmond Christian Church and the Ladies Aid. Mrs. Oliver was born on May 29, 1883, in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Britton. She was married to Oliver on Feb. 26, 1913. Surviving are a son, I. Arthur Oliver of Rt. 1, Rossville; two grandsons, Ronald and James; a great-grandson, Jeffrey; a sister, Nettie Stringer of Indianapolis, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Helms Funeral Chapel at Linden with Rev. Richard Reahard officiating. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday.
