Oliver - Emma Persinger

While attempting to start a fire with coal oil this morning, Mrs. Frank Oliver, two miles west of Whitesville was literally roasted to death, sustaining injuries from she died almost noon today. Her husband, in attempting to rescue her from an awful death was also seriously burned and his recovery is a matter of grave doubt. The Oliver home was set on fire and the force of the explosion of the two gallon can of oil used smashed out many of the windows. But for the timely assistance of neighbors it would have been destroyed by the fire. About 5 o’clock this morning, Mrs. Oliver .. whoops, missed the rest
