Mrs. Mary M. Olin of Argos, former Montgomery County schoolteacher, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth, Ind. Mrs. Olin, 76, was admitted eight days for treatment of a heart condition. Her husband, Leverett Olin, survives. The couple were married here on April 1, 1916. Mrs. Olin had been an elementary schoolteacher in Indiana communities including the Montgomery County area for over 27 years. She was also well known as a music teacher and frequently served as a church choir director. She lived on Rt. 2, Argos, for the last 19 years and before that in South Bend and other Indiana cities. Mrs. Olin was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church and Argos Chapter 265, Order of Eastern Star. Born near Monticello on Feb. 9, 1892, she was the daughter of George and Melissa Reed Crowder. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Kenneth Olin of Rt. 2, Argos; a brother, Ralph Crowder of North Liberty; a sister, Mrs. Mable Mahoney of Moberly, Mo.; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Grossman Funeral Home in Argos, with Rev. Arthur Schenck of Newtown and Rev. Douglas Stanwyck officiating. Graveside rites will be held at the Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale. The casket will be opened for the service. Friends may call at the Grossman Funeral Home.
