VEEDERSBURG -- Mrs. Edna M. Oblinger, 84, of 213 W. Grant St., Veedersburg, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient since Friday. She was a member of the Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene. Born Feb. 14, 1891, in Parke County, she was a daughter of Jacob and Martha Lawson Shoaf. She first married Lee Mears in 1910. After his death, she married Asa Oblinger in 1935. He also is deceased. Surviving are two sons, Russell and Ray Mears of Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Robbins and Mrs. Marjorie Thomas of Veedersburg; a step brother, Claude Clark of Veedersburg; 11 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Three sons and 11 brothers and sisters are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Cloyd Kyger officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at Dickerson Funeral Home today and until noon Wednesday. --waw
