Mrs. Daniel O’Neil Sr., died very suddenly Sunday afternoon at her home in the east end. She was in her usual good health in the morning and partook of a hearty dinner. About 2 o’clock, however, it some inexplicable manner she strained herself and ruptured a blood vessel. She bled very profusely and died within five minutes after her accident. Mrs. O’Neil was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1829, but was reared in London, marrying Daniel O’Neil there October 21, 1855. Twenty six years ago they immigrated to this country and settled in Crawfordsville, where they have since resided. Six children were born to them, all of whom survive: M. A. O’Neil and Mrs. Duff Casad, of Crawfordsville; J. J. O’Neil, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Jas. Mack, Mrs. Charles Bell and Daniel O’Neil Jr., of Chicago. Mrs. O’Neil was a devout and consistent communicant of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Sodality. She was a kind and loving mother and wife and her family in their deep distress has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
