Nickell - Mamie Williams

ROCKVILLE – Mrs. Mamie Nickell, 78, died at 12:05 a.m. Friday at the Parke County Nursing Home where she had been a patient for the last few months. Mrs. Nickell maintained a home at 512 N. Virginia St. She was a member of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church. Born on Oct. 24. 1890, in Rosedale, she was the daughter of Samuel and Penina Frazier Williams. Her marriage to J. Ona Nickell was solemnized in February of 1907. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1958. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Maxine) Woody of Bloomingdale; a stepson, Maurice Nickell of Boston, Mass.; a foster son, Freeman English of Indianapolis; a brother, John Williams of Lakeland, Fla., nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three nieces. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and a stepson. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Tudor Funeral Home at Rockville with Rev. Wendell Adams officiating. Burial will be in Bloomingdale Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
