Thomas Lawrence NICHOLSON son of T.B. Nicholson of this city and for many years a resident of Crawfordsville died suddenly at the St. Luke hospital in Chicago Wednesday morning. Mr. Nicholson's death occurred at 3 a.m. and followed a brief illness from stereptocous pneumonia. Word of Mr. Nicholson's passing was received here in a message from the father. The news of Mr. Nicholson's death comes as a severe shock to his many friends in Crawfordsville as it was not known here until Tuesday night that he had been taken seriously ill. Mr. Nicholson who had recently returned from a trip abroad was stricken soon after reaching his home in Chicago. The deceased who was a veteran of the World War and who had been making rapid strides in the business world was the director of the broadcase department for Critchfield & Company, prominent Chicago advertising firm at the time of his death. He was born in this city May 11, 1896 the son of T. B. and Anne Kenyon Nicholson. Following his graduation from the public schools he entered Wabash College where he received the Bachelor of Arts degree. While a student at Wabash, Mr. NIcholson was prominent in Indiana intercollegiate athletic circles being one of the leaders of the Wabash Track squad. Shortly after the US declared war on Germany, Mr. Nicholson entered the officers' training camp at Ft. Benjamin Harrison where he was commissioned Lt. He served with distinction during the war, being stationed at Camp Taylor for a considerable period. He was a member of Zeta Theta Pi fraternity. In June 1921, Mr. Nicholson united in marriage with Nell Braxton Jones of SC, the couple taking up their residence in Chicago. Those who survive are the wife, and two children, the father, TB Nicholson of this city and one brother, Kenyon Nicholson of NY. Mr. Nicholson's mother passed away Aug 1926. The body will be brought here late today and taken to Utterback-Murphy Funeral Home. Arrangemetns for the services will be announced.

A large group of the friends and relatives of Thomas Lawrence Nicholson gathered at the Utterback-Murphy Funeral Home Saturday afternoon where they attended the last rites of the young man. The service marked by the utmost simplicity was conducted by Rev. Melvin Oggel of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church and burial was made in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Nicholson, the son of T. B. Nicholson of this city and for the past several years a resident of Chicago died in St. Luke Hospital there Wednesday morning following a brief illness from pneumonia. Mr. Nicholson had recently returned from a trip abroad and at the time of his death was the broadcast director for Critchfield & Company, Chicago Advertising firm. Although he had been away from Crawfordsville since shortly after the close of the war, the high esteem in which he was held by his home community was attested to by the many beautiful floral tributes. Many friends paid their respects at the funeral home Friday where the remains lay in state several hours. The pall bearers and flower bearers for the service included John C.
