Newnum - Milford

Milford Newnum, 92, Hillsboro, died Wednesday evening in Lake View Memorial Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been hospitalized for the past few days. Mr. Newnum was a retired farmer and member of the Centennial Community Church. He was born in the Centennial community east of Yeddo June 29 1880, a son of David E. and Viola Redenbaugh Newnum. He was married June 30 1902, to Ida Allgood who preceded him in death in 1949. Survivors include a son, James of Rt. 1 Tangier, five daughters, Mrs. Ray (Bernice) Lasley of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ralph (Ina) Woodward of Danville, Ill. Mrs. Eston (Dorene) Crowder of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Morris (Mary) Brown of Tangier and Mrs. Eugene (Gladys) Sowers of Rt. 1, Hillsboro; 27 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and two sisters. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Woodrow funeral Home at Kingman. The Rev. John Foxworthy of Waynetown will officiate. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery east of Yeddo. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
