Waynetown- Mrs. Addie Newkirk, 87, a resident of the Yountsville and Alamo communities, died Friday morning in her home west of Yountsville. Born August 5, 1871, 3 miles southwest of Alamo, Mrs. Newkirk was the daughter of Jefferson and Elizabeth Denman Etter. She married Charles Newkirk at Alamo. She attended the Texas and Alamo schools and was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. Surviving are two sons, Russell Newkirk, Rt 2, Crawfordsville and Leslie Newkirk, Rt 6, Crawfordsville; three daughters, Mrs. Granville Weir, Rt 3, Crawfordsville; Mrs. John Pointer, 700 S. Grant Ave, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Pauline Hamm, Rt 4, Crawfordsville; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Alamo Christian Church, with burial at the Alamo Cemetery. Rev. John R. Servies and Rev. Noble Carothers will be the officiating ministers. Friends may call at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. - kbz

Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Newkirk were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Alamo Christian Church with Rev. John R. Servies officiating, assisted by Rev. Noble Carothers. Pallbearers were Lloyd Etter, Clarencce Payton, Alva Myers, Harry Luzader, Roy Myers, Earl Sarver, and Kenneth Hybarger of Tiffin, Ohio. Flower bearers were Grace Lankford, Frances Etter, Eva Sarver, Grace Abney, Georgia Myers, Agnes Gray, Ruth Pointer, Mary Selby, Stella Myers, Doris Stevens and Ellen Maitland, of Detroit, also grandchildren: Phyllis and Cecil Dunlap, Lawrence and Della Weir, Mike Hamm, Kathy Newkirk, Charles Newkirk and Sharon Weir. Selected hymns were played on the piano by Mrs. Inez Luzader. Interment was in Alamo Cemetery. - kbz
