KINGMAN -- Homer Milton Newcomb, 54, a resident of Kingman, died Friday evening after being stricken at the camping ground in Turkey Run State Park. He was taken in an ambulance to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1908 in Roland, Ky., and his parents were Nathan and Sally Moore Newcomb. On Oct. 26, 1929, he married Geraldine Brooks. Survivors include the widow; a son, George Harold Newcomb of Rt. 1 Kingman; a daughter, Mrs. Emmalee Rutledge of Kinman; a brother, George Newcomb of Great Britain, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth York of St. Berniece and Ms. Hattie Beard of Goodland. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Centennial EUB Church on U.S. 41 north of Kingman with Rev. Lawrence Beebe officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Robert Carey. The body will lie in state at the church after 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Friend’s Chapel in Scotland, Ill. The arrangements will be handled by the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home in Marshall. - kbz
