Newcomb - Geraldine Brooks

KINGMAN – Mrs. Geraldine Louise Newcomb, age 56, formerly of Kingman Rt. 1, died Friday morning, Nov. 28, at her home in Port Richey, Fla. She was a native of Scottland, Ill., and was born March 24, 1913, the daughter of John and Virgie Soughers Brooks. She married Homer Newcomb on Oct. 21, 1929 and he preceded her in death May 8, 1963. She was a past matron of Yeddo Chapter 313, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are: her mother, Mrs. Virgie Brooks of St. Bernice; one daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Emmalee) Rutledge of Kingman; one son, George H. Newcomb of Kingman Rt. 1; two sisters, Mrs. John Deppe and Mrs. Richard Smith of St. Louis, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Centennial Church. The Rev. Larry McMillan officiated. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Scottland, Ill. The Davies-Tudor Funeral Home of Marshall was in charge of arrangements. The Yeddo Chapter 313, Order of Eastern Star, conducted memorial rites at the church. – jlr
