Lee A. Nevitt, 88, former city fireman, weather broadcaster and machine shop owner died at 2 a.m. today in his home at 412 E. College St. Mr. Nevitt retired from the Crawfordsville fire department on March 17, 1955, after 31 years of service. He served as assistant chief a port of that time. He operated the Nevitt Machine Shop for 25 years and worked as a weather broadcaster for WCVL from 1965-1970. He was employed at the Old Yountsville Woolen Mill in his youth. He was a member of the Christian Church and Crawfordsville Masonic Lodge. He was born May 1, 1885. He was married on Jan 11, 1957 to Elsie Henry Williams. She survives. Also surviving are 3 stepsons, Floyd Williams of Lebanon, Edgar of Columbus and Herbert of Indianapolis; a step-daughter, Mrs. Donald Pace of Indianapolis and a half sister, Mrs. Mary Foust of Crawfordsville. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. A family spokesman said that donations be made to the Indiana Children's Christian Home, Box 276, Ladoga 47954
