Mrs. Truth Nees, 66, of 6059 Dean Road, Indianapolis, a native of Darlington and former home economics teacher in this area, died Thursday in St. Vincent’s Hospital at Indianapolis. Mrs. Nees taught in the Linden and Bowers schools and was on the faculty at Broad Ripple from 1957 to 1961. She had lived in several states and returned to Indiana to make her residence. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Altar Guild, St. Anne Guild and Episcopal Church Women, Alpha Chi Omega and Sylvan Homemakers. She was born May 21, 1908, at Darlington, a daughter of Frank and Eleanor Turnipseed Custor. She married William E. Nees, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Martha Lyerly of Indianapolis and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Turnipseed of Darlington. A son died in infancy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with burial in Crown Point Cemetery at Indianapolis. Friends may call at Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the Cancer Society. – jlr
