HILLSBORO - Rev. Ross Kirk officiated at the funeral service of Mrs. Ida Neal held Saturday afternoon at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Mrs. Sara Lou Fishero presided at the organ and also accompanied Mrs. George Tucker of Waynetown who sang “Good Night and Good Morning” and “He Is So Precious To Me.” The pallbearers, who assisted with the flowers, were Grover Crowder, Homer Reister, Perry Bennett, Henry Shoemaker, Don Palin and Floyd Brown Jr. Interment was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -- jlr

Hillsboro - Mrs. Ida Neal, 87, a resident of the Hillsboro and Mellott area the greater part of her life died at Westbrook Nursing Home, Crawfordsville at 4 p.m. Thursday. She had been a patient in the home for 10 years. Born July 1, 1877 in Fountain County, Mrs. Neal was the daughter of Elbridge and Sarah Simpson. She was married in March 1896 to Marvin Neal. He preceded her in death 1955. Mr. Neal was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church. A twin daughter, Esther Neal also preceded Mrs. Neal in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Pierce of Long Beach, California, the twin of Esther Neal, and Mrs. Elsie Shortz of Bremen, Ind; six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Brown of Veedersburg and Mrs. Blanche Songer of Texaco, Ill. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Rev. Ross Kirk will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 pm. Friday. -- kbz
