LINDEN – Mrs. Delila E. Norris, 65, died at 5:35 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. She had been in failing health eight years and hospitalized one and one-half days. A resident of Linden the past 25 years, she was a member of the Nazarene Church in Glasgow, Ky. She attended school in Texas. After moving to this area she was employed by Wilson Brothers Co. at Crawfordsville. Born July 30, 1900, in McGregor, Tex., she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Brackney. She was married June 4, 1916, in Texas, to Luther Norris. He died in 1952. Surviving are four sons, James T. and Frank, both of Glasgow, Clifford R. of El Cajon, Calif., and Mark of Bowling Green, Ky.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Guinn of Linden. Mrs. Melvin Calvert of Indianapolis and Mrs. Roy Brown of Fort Thomas, Ky.; five sisters, Mrs. Lillie Hill, Mrs. Pearl Simmons, Mrs. Mattie Stephens, Mrs. Myrt Attway and Gladys Brackney, all of Texas; 24 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Helms Funeral Chapel here with Rev. Willis Syphers officiating. Interment will be in Linden Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after noon Saturday. – jlr
