Samuel Everette Nicholson, 68, well-known farmer and former rural school teacher, fell from a load of hay about 2 p.m. Saturday, died at 7:00 a.m. today at his farm home four miles north of here on route 2, Liberty (Montgomery Co., KS) Nicholson, who suffered no serious injuries in the fall from a wagon while loading hay at the barn on his farm, is believed to have suffered a stroke, the attending physician said today. Born Oct. 24, 1878 at Crawfordsville, Indiana., Nicholson had lived 50 years on the farm where he died. A number of years ago he taught school for ten years in rural districts here and in Havana, (KS). Nicholson was a member of the Verdigris Valley Drainage board in district 3 until his resignation a year ago. Survivors are his wife, Lila, a son, Neal Nicholson, of Nyssa, Oreg., daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Russell, Route 1, (KS) and a foster grandson, Rex Carr. His twin brother, Bert Nicholson, died ten years ago today. Funeral arrangements, under direction of the Skinner funeral home, were incomplete at press time.
