GEORGE M. NICHOLS

George M. NICHOLS 51, died Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Culver Hospital.
He had been ill with a heart ailment since June 14. Born in
Linden, Aug 11, 1900 Mr. Nichols was the son of James A. and Cara
E. Ridinger Nichols. On July 25, 1920, he was married to Beatrice
McCoy at Covington. Mr. Nichols who lived at 700 W. Market St was
a member of the Mt. Zion EUB Church and Modern Woodmen lodge. He
was a graduate of New Market HS. He had been employed at the RR
Donnelley & Sons printing plant as a compositor for 30 years.
Survivors include the widow; four sons, Norman, Eddie, Walter and
Oka A. Nichols; 3 daughters, Mrs. Alice WITT; Mrs. Ruth INMAN;
Miss Naomi Nichols, a brother, Alva Nichols of Crawfordsville; a
sister, Mrs. Grace Johnson of New Market and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Mt. Zion church Friday
at 3 p.m. Rev Wayne Stine will officiate. Burial in Masonic
Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Proffit &
Sons Funeral Home until noon Friday. The body will lie in state
