Mrs. Susie MYERS 82 a resident of Kingman Rt 1 died at about 8 p.m. Thursday July 21 at home. She had resided there the past 60 years. She had been in ill health 8 months. Mrs. Myers was born near Marshall in Parke Co. July 5, 1884, the daughter of Hiram and Nancy Elliott. She was married Oct 30, 1904 to Orma Myers, who survives. Surviving in addition to the husband are: 3 daughters, Mrs. Flora I. Keeling of Veedersburg, Mrs. Edith V. Lowery of Waynetown Rt 1, and Mrs. Ruble Lowery of Lafayette 18 grandchildren 16 greats. She was preceded in death by 2 sons. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro. The Rev. Ralph Watson officiated and burial was in Lutheran Cemetery, Wallace.

Wallace - Mrs. Susie Myers, 82, died Thursday (July 21, 1966) at 8 p.m. at her home near Wallace. She had been in failing health for 8 moths. She was born July 5, 1884, the daughter of Hiram and Nancy Elliott Myers, and had lived in the Wallace area for 60 years. She married Orma Myers Oct 30, 1904 at her parents' home. Survivors include the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Flora I. Keeling of Veedersburg; Mrs. Ruby M. Lowery of Lafayette and Mrs. Edith V. Lowery of Waynetown, 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons (one of which is Robert A. Myers). Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Ralph Watson of New Market officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Wallace. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
Also note: These two short obituaries contradict as one says maiden name is Elliott and other that her mother's maiden name is Elliott. After checking two of her sisters' papemortuary.com and her own entry there, it does appear that her parents were Hiram and Nancy Elliott MYERS. Do let me know if that is incorrect.
