VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) — Robert "Robbie" Myers, 86, of Veedersburg Route 2, died Thursday (Dec. 6, 1973) at his home six miles southwest of Hillsboro. A retired farmer and stock trucker, he had resided all his life on the farm where he was born. He was a 50-year member of the Wallace Masonic Lodge 495 and was a member of the Thanuel Lutheran Church. Born June 16, 1887, he was the son of James Daniel and Viola Myers Myers. He was first married to Opal Lungren. He was married April 9, 1924, in Mace, Ind., to Grace Lowery, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Eli of Fothan, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Brown of Terre Haute and Mrs. Elizabeth Brown of Waveland; a foster sister, Mrs. Ella Ward of Wallace; 20 grandchildren, 21greatgrandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son; a daughter; two grandchildren; two brothers, Orma of Wallace and Glen of Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. Bessie McCollum of Hillsboro; and three brothers and sisters in infancy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. Burial will be in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Masonic services there at 8 p.m. Sunday. -- typed by Walt W

He was a retired farmer and stock truck driver and a member of Thanuel Lutheran Church. He was also a 50-year member of Wallace Masonic Lodge 495 F & AM. He was born June 16, 1887, a son of James Daniel and Viola Myers Myers. He was first married to Opal Lungren. He later was married to Grace Lowery of Mace on April 9, 1924. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Eli of Dothan, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Brown of Terre Haute and Mrs. Elizabeth Brown of Waveland; a foster sister, Mrs. Ella Ward of Wallace; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by two brothers, Orma and Glenn; a sister, Mrs. Bessie McCollum, a son and a daughter in infancy and two great-grandchildren.
