Covington -- Perry Myers, 85, lifetime resident in the Centennial Community, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the Small Nursing Home, Waynetown. Myers was a farmer and pioneer in the development of this community. Born May 6, 1877, he was the son of Joseph (sic) and Harriet Alward Myers. He was married to Myrtle Philpott in November of 1906. She died in 1952. Survivors include six children: Helen Campbell, Downers Grove, Ill; Perry Myers, Yeddo; Ralph Myers, Wallace; Mary MIntz, ? Fla; and Robert Myers, Wheaton, Ill; 26 grandchildren, -- greats and one great greats, and a sister Fairy McKinseie, Rt 1 Kingman. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and an infant child. Funeral services will be Monday at at 2 p.m. in the Centennial EUB Church. Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Friends may call at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington and 1 p.m. Monday.

KINGMAN --- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Oct. 29, at the Centennial EUB Church for Perry Myers, age 85, father of Mrs. Eddie (Ruby) Smith, 222 Union St., Covington, who died at 8:30 p. m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Small Nursing Home at Waynetown where he had been since Aug. 1961. He had been seriously ill a week. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated. Burial was in the Centennial Cemetery with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Myers was born May 6, 1877, near Centennial, the son of Joseph and Harriett Alward Myers. He married Myrtle Philpott Nov. 30, 1896, and she preceded him in death March 15, 1952. Mr. Myers was a farmer and life resident of Fountain County and lived most of his life in the Centennial community. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Ruby) Smith of Covington, Mrs. Helen Campbell of Downers Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Mintz of Tavares, Fla.; three sons, Robert of Wheaton, Ill., Ralph of Wallace, and Harry of Yeddo; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Fairy) McKinsie of Kingman Rt. 1; 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandmother. A brother, two sisters and an infant child preceded him in death.
