Myers - Mary

Miss Mary Myers, 19 years of age, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Myers of Howard Township died at the home of her parents Friday morning at 10 o'clock after a little over 3 weeks illness of typhoid fever which developed into pneumonia. The immediate cause of Miss Myers' death was the breaking of an abscess on her lung. Miss Myers was a favorite in her community and poplar with a large circle of friends. She was a grad. of Marshall High School Class of 1917, and took an active part in all work for the betterment of the school and her classmates. During the recent war chest drive her ability and patriotism was recognized and she was honored by being named Township Secretary. The excellent record of this unit was attributed in a large extent to her untiring efforts and ability. Miss Myers for several years has been assistant correspondent to the Tribune. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian. church in Marshall, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. G. K. Kenaton of Crawfordsville, assisted by the local pastor. The fun. was one of the largest attended of any ever held in the northern part of the county. Six young ladies, classmates of Miss Myers, acted as bearers of the pall and six young women served as flower bearers. kbz
