Funeral services for James Daniel MYERS 83 who died of complications at his country home about 5 miles NE of Wallace at 6:15 Wed evening after a six weeks illness were conducted at Phanuel Lutheran Church a mile SE of Wallace at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. John Servies of Crawfordsville officiating. Burial in Lutheran cemetery with undertaker John Shuler of Waynetown in charge. Pall bearers were: Carl Ward; Leo Staggs; Wallace McCollum; Francis Fox; roy Grimes; Paul Keeling; Frank Lowery and Oral Sowers. Flower carriers were: Gladys Lowery; Nellie McCollum; Edith; Ruby and Elizabeth Myers; Kathryn Helen Smith, pianist sung, "Old Rugged Cross, In the Garden and Beautiful Garden of Prayer." Mr. Myers was born Feb 2, 1851 Parke County son of Andrew Jackson and Mary Brent Myers and was married Jan 28, 1875 t o Viola Myers, who preceded him in death Nov 1921. The deceased was a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He was a retired school teacher and farmer residing at his present home since 1876. Surviving are 3 sons: Glenn E of Veedersburg; Orma AJ of Wallace and Robert A at home; a daughter, Mrs. Bessie McCollum of Hillsboro and adopted daughter, Mrs. Thomas Ward of Wallace; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
