Henry A. Myers, 81, of near Wallace, died at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He had been in declining health for several months and was removed to the hospital Monday afflicted with a complication of diseases, his condition became serious Wednesday night. Mr. Myers was born March 26, 1853, in Sugar Creek Township, Parke County, the son of Emsley J. and Minerva Alward Myers. He was married December 3, 1875 to Sarah C. Myers, who died April 6, 1932. He had spent all of his life in Parke County with the exception of two years in Kingman and the past year near Wallace. Surviving are two sons, E.J. Myers at whose home, 5 miles south of Wallace, Mr. Myers had been living and and Ared F.Myers, who lives on a farm nearby; a daughter, Mrs. Lizz E. Nickell, living in the same community south of Wallace; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and brothers, Albert M. and Thomas M. Myers, both of near Attica and Jacob of near Marshall. Mr. Myers' own farm is situated across the road from the home of the son, E.J. Myers. The other son, Arte had been visiting in Tucson, Ariz and upon hearing of the serious illness of his father, started back by plane but the ship was forced down at Memphis, Tennessee by the thick fog, and he was forced to make the rest of the journey by train, arriving at his father's bedside at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Wolf Creek church, near Wallace, with the Rev. Cornelius Airhart of Crawfordsville in charge. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.
