ALAMO — Mrs. Georgia Mae Myers, 72, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday in Bowles Convalescent Home at Crawfordsville where she had been a patient three weeks. She had been in failing health six years and seriously ill since March. Mrs. Myers resided in Montgomery County all of her life and was educated in the Waveland schools. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church at Crawfordsville. Born Jan. 19, 1892 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of John and Nancy Ritter Moore. She was married three times. She first married Edgar Staggs Aug. 26, 1909 at Waveland. On Aug. 7, 1920 she married Walter Dowden at Crawfordsville. Her third marriage, Feb. 11, 1935 was to Alva Myers, who survives and resides here. Other survivors include a son, Maurice Dowden of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Hodson, Mrs. Irene Grabman and Mrs. Dora Allen, all of Crawfordsville; a stepson, Ralph Myers of Rt. 1, Waynetown; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Esther Lamson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Alice May Ingersoll of Alamo; seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Staggs. Funeral services are announced for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown. Rev. John Servies will officiate. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery northwest of Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home.
