WINGATE — Mrs. Georgia Myers, 50, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday at the Home Hospital in Lafayette where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been in failing health for several years. Born Nov. 24, 1916, in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of George and Bertha Roberts Horton. She was married April 6, 1936, in Rossville to Woodrow Myers. She attended the Oakland School and later was graduated from Rossville High School. For eight years she was employed by the Tri-County Telephone Co. Mrs. Myers was a member of the New Richmond Christian Church, Juno Temple of Pythian Sisters and the Wingate Bridge Club. Survivors include the husband; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Horton of Mulberry; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Bowers of Wingate; a son, Robert Myers of Wingate; a brother, Lawrence Horton of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Ideal of California, and a grandson, Jeffrey Bowers of Wingate. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Thomas Terry of Winamac, assisted by John Foxworthy of New Richmond. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The organ music by Mrs. James Grenard included the requested hymns "In the Garden," "Sweet Hour of Prayer," "The Old, Old Story" and "The Lord's Prayer." The minister was Rev. Thomas Perry of Winamac, assisted by John Foxworthy of New Richmond. The pallbearers, who also assisted with the flowers, were Forrest Patton, Robert Thayer, Charles Waye, James DeVault Jr., James Lee Meharry and Ora Wagner.
