Waveland - Eston L. Myers, 58 of 601 W. Main St, Waveland died Wednesday evening in his home. He was a member of Scotts Prairie Christian Church, Waveland American Legion and VFW at Wallace. He was a former member of the Waveland Fire Dept. and had been employed by Wabash College in the maintenance department. Mr. Myers was a WWII veteran and a graduate from Kingman HS. Born July 15, 1918 in Fountain County, he was a son of Herman and Hazel Purnell Myers. He was married to Berniece L. Carlile Dec 17, 1938 at Covington. She survives. Also surviving are two sons: Jerry Dean of Lake Alfred, Fla; and Pfc Byron Myers, USMC, Guam; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Sandy) Gillogly of Wavleand; Mrs. Allan (Linda Mendenhall of Crawfordsvile); Mrs. Richard (Brenda) Sommerville of Waveland and Mrs. Maynard (Carol) Poole of Marshall; 12 grandchildren; his father, Herman; two brothers, Herman Jr. of Winter Haven, Fla and Robert of Waveland; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Elinor) Marietta of Clinton; Mrs. Dean (Susan) Cronkhite of Crawfordsville and Mrs. James (Martha Holmes of Veedersburg. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Machledt-Services Funeral Home with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial in Old Union Cemtery. - transcribed by kbz
