Newtown - Mrs. Emma Myers, 87, died at 6 a.m. Monday (June 21st) in Ben Hur Nursing Home, Crawfordsville where she had been a patient the past 2 1/2 years. Mrs. Myers had resided in the Newtown area the past 26 years. Born May 26, 1878 at Yeddo, she was a daughter of Andrew J. and Indiana Bailey Patterson. She married Austin Myers Sept 15, 1895. He died in 1939. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. King Cunningham of Newtown; two sons, Wayne of Dillon, Mont and Ray of Bozeman, Mont; a sister, Mrs. Mae McCormick of Veedersburg; a brother, John Patterson of Covington; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday of Centennial EUB Church with Rev. Bennett Fulp of Carwfordsville officiating. Interment will be in Centennial Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro after 2 p.m. Wednesday. -- kbz


Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.
