NEW MARKET -- Edward D. Myers, 88, died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had been in failing health with a heart ailment the past nine months. Mr. Myers was a retired farmer. He resided in the Freedom community before moving to New Market several years ago. Born Jan. 21, 1877, in Parke County, he was the son of Hiram and Frances Elliott Myers. He was married Oct. 8, 1896, to Lena Canine. Mrs. Myers died Oct. 24, 1958. Surviving are three sons, Glenn R. of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville, Roy L. of Indianapolis and Everett L. of New Market; a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Meadows of Roachdale; a sister, Mrs. Susie Myers of Wallace; three grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Noble Reeves Funeral Home here. Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after noon Friday.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Reeves Funeral Home, New Market for Edward D. MYERS, 88, who passed away Thursday morning, Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He had been in ill health for 9 months. Mr. Myers was born Jan 21, 1877 in Parke County son of Hiram and Frances Elliott Myers. He was married to Lena CANINE Oct 8, 1896. She died Oct 24, 1958. Mr. Myers was a retired farmer and resided in the Freedom community before moving to New Market several years ago. He is survived by 3 sons, Glenn R. of Crawfordsville; Roy L. of Indianapolis and Everett L. of New Market; a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Meadows, Roachdale; a sister, Mrs. Susie Myers of Wallace; two grandchildren, 11 greats. Burial in Freedom Cemetery.
