Mrs. Christina Myers dead at age of 90 years at home near Waveland Mrs. Christina Sowers Myers, 90 years old, died Tuesday morning at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Myers, northwest of Waveland. Mrs. Myers had been in failing health for about three months and her death was due to infirmities of age. She was the widow of the late Elijah Myers. Deceased was the daughter of Michael and Christina Sowers and was born March 14, 1830, in Davidson County, North Carolina. She moved from that state with the family in 1839 and settled on a farm three miles southwest of Wallace. She was reared int hat community and lived there her entire life. She was united in marriage to Elijah Myers in 1849 and to this union four children were born: Elizabeth Myers, Mrs. Thomas Allen, Lorenza Myers, and Mrs. Phebe Newlin, the latter having died a number of years ago. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She was a Lutheran from infancy in NC and became a member of what is known as the Myers Lutheran Church in Indiana and was a member until she died. The funeral will be at the Myers Lutheran Church at 11 o'clock Thurs in charge of Rev. Isaiah Whitman of Versailles, Ohio, a former pastor here.
