HILLSBORO- Hyson J. Myer, 84, prominent Hillsboro businessman, died Monday morning in his home at Hillsboro. He was found dead in bed by a son, Ernest C. Myer, who lives next door. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born July 9, 1874 near Hillsboro, Mr. Myer was the son of Richard and Nannie Bever Myer. He was twice married, first to Nettie Hesler Sept. 6, 1896 and next to DeBorah Long Nov. 3, 1904. The first wife died March 10, 1901. Mr. Myer, who retired from active business in 1953, was a director of the Indiana Mutual Insurance Co. many years. He was Hillsboro agent for the company 40 years. He also was a former director of the Hillsboro State Bank and a trustee of the Hillsboro Christian Church. From 1927 to 1931 he served as Cain Township trustee. Surviving are the widow, two sons, Ernest C. Myer of Hillsboro and Earl Myer of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Grace True of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Stella Zimmerman of Louisville, Ky., two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crumley Funeral Home. Rev. Homer Cole, pastor of the Hillsboro Christian Church, will officiate and interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery here.
