Ladoga - Granville L. Murrell, retired farmer and trucker died early Tuesday morning at his home in Ladoga. He was born in Clay Co KY and was 74. His parents were Henry L. and Martha Ball Murrell. He was married in 1905 to Saly Hoskins and after her death was married in 1914 to Sally Thompson at Broadhead, Ky. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Newell Dossett of Crawfordsville and Mr. Chester Dickerson of Ladoga; a son, Martin of Montezuma; 3 sisters, Mrs. Floyd Wells of Homer, Ill; Mrs. Cyrus Bradford of Dixon, Calif and Mary C. Gibbs of Lexington, Ky; three brothers, Felix of Crab Orchard; Larkin of Dixon, Calif and Rev. Homer Lee Murrell of Hammond; a half-sister, Mrs. Warren Hammond of Franklin, Oh; six grandchilren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Oscar who died Dec 2, 1943 WWII casualty. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home at Ladoga after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 2 p.m Thursday at Ladoga Christian Church, where Murrell was a member. Rev. James Landrum will officiate. Burial in Ladoga Cemetery.
