WAVELAND - Russell Dean Murray, 59, of Waveland, died Monday evening in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Mr. Murray had been employed as a barber in Waveland and formerly worked as a barber in Russellville. A graduate of Russellville High School, he was also a member of the Waveland American Legion Post and Crawfordsville VFW Post 1431. Born Feb. 4, 1912, in Russellville, he was a son of Bert S. and G. Irene Barton Murray. He was married to Geraldine O'Neal at Indianapolis. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Margie Raters of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Mrs. Lana Waples of Brownsburg and Melody Murray of Waveland; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Harbison of Russellville; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy. Funeral services will be conducted at Machledt - Servies Funeral Home in Waveland at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Russellville Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted.
