KINGMAN - Paul Murphy, age 63, of Crawfordsville, a former resident of Kingman, died at the Home Hospital in Lafayette at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 23, during surgery at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been stricken ill at his home earlier. Death was unexpected. He was a resident of Kingman for about 30 years, and had operated a welding shop and grocery store. He served as a member of the Town Board in Kingman for several years. He was born June 7, 1904 at Roff, Okla., the son of Henry and Anna Smith Murphy. He was married to Lizzie Medearis on April 22, 1926 and she survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: three sons, Earl, Beryl and Paul Jr., all of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Crowder of Dana and Mrs. Edna Miller of Terre Haute; one brother, Ray of Stillwater, Okla., and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. The Rev. Mr. Muir officiated and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, near Crawfordsville. -- typed by CA.
