Waveland - Mrs. Augusta G. Murphy, 88, a native of the Waveland area, died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday at Terre Haute. She was a graduate of Franklin College and had taught school at East Chicago until her marriage to Ellsworth C. Murphy in 1915. They resided at Chicago for many years where Mr. Murphy was dean of LaSalle Extension Law School until his death in 1955. Born July 3, 1886, she was a daughter of William T. and Hattie Edge Glenn. Mrs. Murphy and her sister, the late Mrs. Marguerite Hillabold, moved to Terre Haute in 1963. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the First Baptist Church at Terre Haute. Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Robert B. Walters of Terre Haute, and three grandnieces. Services will be in Thomas Funeral Home at Terre Haute at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Archie Showen officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery near Waveland. Friends may call at the funeral home.
