Murphy - Ellsworth

Ellsworth C. Murphy, 68, dean of the law school of LaSalle Extension University of Chicago and the husband of the former Augusta Glenn of Waveland, died Sunday at his home in Chicago. Graveside services will be held at the Freedom Baptist Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday (CDT). Burial will take place there. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Chicago. Mr. Murphy was a native of Carroll County, having been born at Sedalia near Delphi. He and Mrs. Murphy were classmates in Franklin College with the class of 1910 and were graduated together that year. Following his graduation, Mr. Murphy attended the University of Chicago law school where he was graduated. During World War I, Mr. Murphy served as a captain of infantry with the American Forces. Following the war, he entered the practice of law in Chicago and practiced there continuously until his acceptance of the position of dean of the law school. Mr. Murphy was a member of the Illinois State Barr Assn.; the American Society of Judication, and he also held membership in the Hyde Park Baptist Church in Chicago. The widow and three sisters survive.

E. C. MURPHY of Chicago and husband of the former Miss Gussie GLENN died Monday morning at one o'clock at Woodlawn Hospital following a short illness of heart ailment. The interment was at Freedom Cemetery following graveside rites. - typed by kbz
