Murphy, Matt J. - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Waynetown – Matt J. Murphy, 74 who was born near here, died Tuesday in his home at Greencastle where he was an attorney.  He attended Fountain County schools and later was a teacher and principal of the schools of Elmdale, New Richmond and Wingate. He lived at Greencastle since 1911 and was a law partner of Silas Hayes.  He took up the practice of law after graduation from the School of law at Indiana University.  He was married to Julia Tobin of Roachdale in 1921. Surviving besides the widow is a brother, Dan W. Murphy, Crawfordsville. - kz
