John Murphin rites conducted at Charleston - Funeral services for JOHN MURPHIN, 66, of 1332 E. Jefferson St., Charleston, Ill., were held Saturday at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home in Charleston. He was a former resident of Frankfort. Mr. Murphin was born in Montgomery County, Indiana on Jan. 5, 1899, the son of John and Lovie ALFORD MURPHIN. He retired in 1957 as a machinist for the Nickel Plate Railroad Co. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Charleston and a member of the Railway Machinists' union. He was married to the former Lucille LIPP on April 20, 1920. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Virginia REDMOND of Mt. Rainier, Md.; two sons, John of Kankakee, Ill., and James MURPHIN at home; one sister, Mrs. Naomi DAVIS of Indianapolis and five grandchildren. Relatives attending the funeral included: Rev. and Mrs. Cleon LIPP, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth LIPP, Mr. and Mrs. Harold LIPP, Mr. and Mrs. Frank KINGERY, Mr. and Ms. Curtiss McKINZIE, Mr. and Mrs.Robert THOMAS, Mr. and Mrs. Willis DAVIS, William RUEGAMER and Mrs. Mary MARTIN.
